First Aid Course The FAIB-accredited 3-Day First Aid at Work (FAW) course is a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to act as qualified first aiders in the workplace. It complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is suitable for medium to high-risk environments such as construction, manufacturing, and engineering. Course Content Core First Aid Skills - Role and responsibilities of a first aider - Incident management and accident reporting (RIDDOR) - Preventing cross-infection - Assessing and managing an incident Life-Saving Procedures - Adult CPR and AED use - Choking (adult, child, infant) - Recovery position - Seizures and unconscious casualties - Shock management Injury Treatment - Wounds, bleeding, and burns - Minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises, splinters) - Eye injuries - Head and spinal injuries - Amputation and heavy bleeding - Fractures, sprains, strains, and dislocations - Bandaging and immobilisation techniques Medical Conditions - Heart attack and stroke - Epilepsy and seizures - Diabetes and hypoglycemia - Asthma and respiratory emergencies - Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions - Poisoning and stings Practical Skills & Equipment - Use of first aid kits - Communication with emergency services - Understanding ambulance services - Maintenance of first aid equipment Assessment - Continuous practical assessment by the trainer - Final written or practical assessment Duration: 3 Days or 2 Days for refresher Format: Online or Classroom Certification: FAIB approved Certificate valid for 3 years For more information on this course, please contact us today
